How it works — 5 simple steps

You apply once and your registered contractor handles the rebate claim directly — you simply pay the remaining balance after the rebate is deducted.

1
Read the eligibility requirements
Review income levels, property value limits, and home type requirements on the official portal.
2
Pre-register & get your code
Apply once at BCEnergySavingsProgram.ca. You'll receive an eligibility code valid for 6 months — reusable for multiple upgrades.
3
Get quotes from registered contractors
Only upgrades installed by an ESP-registered contractor qualify. Use the contractor search tool at betterhomesbc.ca.
4
Install the upgrade
Your contractor completes the installation. Make sure all documentation is collected before work begins.
5
Contractor claims the rebate — you pay the rest
The contractor submits the rebate application and deducts it from your final invoice. You pay only the remaining balance.
💡
Apply once — use your code for multiple upgrades You only need to register for the Energy Savings Program once. Your eligibility code can be reused for multiple rebates within the 6-month validity window. After 6 months, you will need to re-apply to confirm your eligibility.
